These five objects communicate with the topic “Surreal” at the time in Paul’s office. Somehow, my objects didn’t really connect with “surreal”, but they all have one thing in common — exiting only in connection with something else.

Assignment: Collect 5 objects in 30 minutes to communicate the topic you picked.

Location: 14th Street – 17th Street btw 5th – 6th Ave. NY, NY.

White Metal Poll: it was sticking out of a trash bag on the sidewalk, it didn’t look like it belongs there.

Plastic Wrap: It’s a 140 square feet wide plastic wrap, anyone normal people wouldn’t need such a big wrap, it’s only for commercial use. So the plastic wrap is only there for the reason so wrap the oversize object.

Red String:It was a shopping bag holder, and now it’s broken. It existing for the need to support the shopping bag.

Bandage:Bandage is for wound; so if no one is getting hurt, then we wouldn’t need to use it.

Canvas: Canvas is for painting, a platform to create. It is necessary for painters.

After that, I change my topic to Synergy.

這是第一天上課時、蟹兒（Paul Sahre）老師出給我們的課堂作業—在30分鐘內收集五件物品來表達你畢業製作的主題。我當時的主題是—超現實主意兒。
地點：他辦公室附近。我們可以買那五樣物品、但也可以拿你原本就有的了、而我打算不花一毛錢、所以五樣東西都是我撿來的。

第一樣：白色金屬竿子兒—因為那時候從一個黑色垃圾袋裡插出來、看起來完全不屬於那個當下。

第二樣：大型保鮮魔（對他是魔鬼)—他是一個平方二十公尺（到底有多大呢？總之很大）的保鮮魔、大到可以把三個人包起來吧、他路邊超市運貨阿北拿來包新鮮食材的。他存在的作用是為了保鮮、如果不需要運貨、那你需要他嗎？一般人會需要用到那麼大嗎？除非你要包屍體、所以超現實。

第三樣：紅色繩子—不是月下老人的紅線喔、她原本是購物袋的把手、但是斷掉了。她存在的價值也是因為購物袋的功能。

第四樣：ＯＫ蹦—繃帶的作用是為給受傷的傷口用的、如果沒有人受傷、就不會需要用到她了（除了有時拿來貼腳踝）。

第五樣：畫布—畫布是拿來作畫用的、一個創作的空間、對畫家來說是必要的。

蟹兒說：恩…好像沒有傳達到超現實主意喔。應該是別的東西…你回去想想是什麼吧。

那天下午我想了很多字、詞來表達我想傳達的主題。經過跟蟹兒伊妹兒來回對談、我決定ＳＹＮＥＲＧＹ—共和作用。因為我收集的東西是因為另一樣東西而存在的、而對兩方都有幫助。
