this morning i spent lots of time brainstorming and researching. i am back to the beginning, finding what’s the core connection between synergy and graphic design.
so far i found couple good writing on wikipedia (don’t judge me), i will share them with you.
graphic design is:
- -In graphic design, “the essence is to give order to information, form to ideas, expression and feeling to artifacts that document human experience.“
- -Graphic designers will often form part of a team working on corporate identity and branding projects. Other members of that team can include marketing professionals, communications consultants and commercial writers.
- -Graphic design is applied in the entertainment industry in decoration, scenery, and visual story telling.
- -Other examples of design for entertainment purposes include novels, comic books, opening credits and closing credits in film, and programs and props on stage. This could also include artwork used for t-shirts and other items screenprinted for sale.
synergy is:
- -A synergy is where different entities cooperate advantageously for a final outcome. If used in a business application it means that teamwork will produce an overall better result than if each person was working toward the same goal individually.
- -A dynamic state in which combined action is favored over the difference of individual component actions.Behavior of whole systems unpredicted by the behavior of their parts taken separately. More accurately known as emergent behavior.
- -The cooperative action of two or more stimuli (or drugs), resulting in a different or greater response than that of the individual stimuli.
the funny thing is, i knew all of these, but i got so cut up on conceptual thinking and forgot about them. these are still vague on graphic design, but it does takes lots of synergy to do graphic design; in fact, graphic design itself is SYNERGY.
stay tune, still brainstorming.

Working in teams is great, when the team is right. It seems like it so often isn’t, because it almost takes a sort of magic for people to be able to work together and progress on a long project- and not end up butting heads, or one person not having input. Even in a situation where there is a boss/ employer setup, if they understand the others strengths and can trust each other—thats where the synergy happens!
