  • Hello there,

Still lost? I think you got it finally. Connecting dots!
Sometimes finding definition from Dictionary helps to understand (or finding) what is the PROBLEM.

check this out: this is from wikipadia: Synergy.
    ttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synergy

A synergy is where different entities cooperate advantageously for a final outcome. If used in a business application it means that teamwork will produce an overall better result than if each person was working toward the same goal individually.

The word and concept itself was coined by R. Buckminster Fuller and included numerous patents of his Synergetic geometry.[citation needed] The term is derived from the Greek syn-ergos, συνεργός meaning working together. It quite literally filled the space missing for an opposite of the concept entropy. Hence it was perhaps more of a ‘discovery’ etymologically speaking.

Bottom line, I don’t think you need to make many your own projects to make a new project, since you can (or you suppose) use other people’s project.

  • Hi Joon,

Thank you for your help. Your comment is encouraging. It’s really tough right now but I’m hopeful about this. I hope to hear more from you. Your opinion is a big help. Again, thank you!

  • This looks alarmingly like a thesis project of a prior student of Paul’s. Not to say that designers don’t constantly rip-off/inspire each other and that originality is rare at this point, but it’s distressing to see an almost identical project come out of the same class. Isn’t the whole point of this class to create something new and to push the limits?

“Bottom line, I don’t think you need to make many your own projects to make a new project, since you can (or you suppose) use other people’s project.”

But perhaps it is okay to imitate a prior student’s thesis project as long as it cooperates advantageously towards a final outcome?

  • hi. thank you for your comment. i actually have not seen any work from Paul’s class that looks like mine. Yes, maybe this is not a very original idea, but i don’t know if it’s identical. if it is, paul would point it out to me already. i am not saying it’s impossible to be identical, but after all, i have not seen all of his student’s work.

how i came up with my project is through my research and exploration on my topic SYNERGY. so if it’s any consolation, i did came up my project idea on my own. please check out my other blog entry to understand my process and my project.
