Eyes with a face exhibition

okay, so this is the basic idea of this “eyes” project. I will host an exhibition in SVA main building, all the walls in one classroom will have full installation of my “eyes” wallpaper(look like my last post); I will invite people to come draw on the wallpaper, and document the process before/during the exhibition. I am also thinking selling the T-shirt that has printed eyes on as well. I designed the promotion poster (11″X 17″) and an invitation (3″ X 3″). I might do the event this or the next Saturday. i think, the idea of having the whole room covered with eyes is visually really strong. but, can you explain little bit more how the room works? is it like, the eyes are on the wall and people will come and draw faces on them or whatever they want?

I like the idea of an event, I guess I’m just still confused as to why did you choose eyes? Is it synergy because you put the eyes on the wall and someone else changes them? I’m not saying it doesn’t work, it just seems like there could be a bit more of a connection, or less arbitrariness between the different projects (what I mean is that you could do this with anything, so I just want to understand why eyes were the choice). Technically you could find a synergistic relationship between anything, but is still interesting is the question I think you need to ask.

I’m also still a little hazy on the synergistic nature of this. We are all working together…to decorate…eyes.
It’s definitely cool looking though. I’m guessing you’ve dropped the endeavor of combining all your projects into one thing somehow?

I like the idea of making a room full of eyes sounds pretty interesting, I can image the environment will look pretty cool. But i would expect there’s more meaning than just making people drawing on the eyes, since eyes itself is such an interesting object. maybe there’s more function or experience than just drawing on it; maybe it’s a room that makes people unconsciously get night mare or feeling people stalking after they went to this event. I think people need something more stories behind it.
Also, if you can have this event on next weekend would be better so you can have more time to promo it and get more people to participate it.

eyes, why eyes?
what’s the name of our school? school of VISUAL arts. yes, we are visual artists, without EYES, how are we gonna create, appreciate graphic design? when we create, learn anything that has to do with visual, the synergy happened between our eyes and our mind. that’s why i chose eyes in the first place.
